Recently Eir upgraded me to fibre optic uo to 100Mbs. I am getting 18max. I wouldn't recommend it. when i had 24MBs broadband I was getting about 13Mbs.
UPC are coming to my area in Carrigaline Co. Cork shortly & I will be switching soon.

Wait until Q1 of 2016 I have been talking with SIRO and most of Carrigaline will be 1gb/s enabled. I am also living in Carrigaline.

Not if you signed up for another 12 month contract which you probably did if you went from standard to fibre.

Not outside in-fill and new buildings/developments near their existing network.
