Tail Light Repair Kit - Enough for NCT?

    Hi,

I have a hole in my tail light (about 1 square inch) and I have the NCT coming up.

My plan is to sell the car - worth about €1,000 - after the NCT. A new tail light costs €100 (even from a breakers yard) which is 10% of the value. The light works perfectly, there is just damage to the exterior.

If I use a tail light repair kit would it be enough to get it through the NCT or do I need to bite the bullet and spend the money on a new cover?

    Thanks

What car is it? As far as I know as long as the repair tape is the right colour and there are no sharp edges left afterwards it'll be fine.

Excellent. Its a Hyundai Santa Fe. Cheapest replacement I can find is €85 including delivery. I'm going to give it a go and see.

    Cheers

New or old model Santa Fe?

I've got through the last two NCTs with lens tape on a brake light.

No white light and no sharp edges was my understanding. Open to correction though.
