Part time pay vs full time

Last Monday I was offered some part time work that pays €X for a 30 hour month, with a view to going full time after Christmas or next summer. When I go full time, will my hourly pay rate stay the same or will it be a bit less but overall I'll earn more? I ask because the hourly rate is a bit mad and if it did scale up I'd probably be paid a lot more than competitors would offer. I could ask the company but I'd prefer not to ask my full time wage before I even start part time.

Why would your hourly rate go down just because you're starting full time? I would have thought it would stay the same.

It may go down: in some industries where there's skill involved (and so staff are harder to get), there would be a premium paid for being flexible, ie willing to work part time.

I wouldve been thought the same, its just that the starting salary if it did stay the same would be 10k more than I wouldve expected the highest to be, and even more than average. Seems a bit mad.
