Mixed Golf Societies - South Dublin?

    Hi

I have been playing golf on and off for the past number of years but never as part of a society or club. I would like to start it properly and I am encouraging my wife to start with me.

As membership costs are quite high I would like us both to join a society to start with - ideally where we could play on Saturday mornings. Once we know that we're both ready to commit we will pay out the joining fee.

Most of the clubs I have looked into only have womens societies - Leopardstown, Stepaside etc. Is it possible to get a mixed society and could anyone recommend one? We are in the Blackrock area.

I have searched here before posting but most posts are very out of date.

    Thank you

Boards golf society! Unfortunately we've played all our events this year but will be back again next year and new members are always welcome.

Quite a few Pubs have their own Golf Societies.
Suggest you enquire in any in your area.

I would think it's nearly impossible to get a society that gets out every Saturday morning.

Maybe join a pay & play club first and see if you both like the game.

Slade Valley in Saggart Co.Dublin are currently looking for 100 New Members & it is only €50 per month to join until Dec 16, in 2017 you pay €60pm , 2018 -€70pm etc
There are plenty of couples playing both Saturdays & Sundays .
See the website for further details .(sladevalleygolfclub.ie)
Probably take you 25 minutes to get there from Blackrock :)
