Hey I'm in my mid 20s and just accepted that I prefer guys to girls (yes I'm slow and unfortunately didn't get the looks to excuse that) but not been in a gay bar yet. I'm just wondering where people would recommend for a guy to head to for a couple of quiet drinks and maybe chat to someone in a relaxed atmosphere.

Pantibar maybe? Its pretty chill, small and relaxed. The thing about a gay bar is, no one judges you for going there on your own to chill.

Maybe join the front runners? I have never been, but it sounds like a good running club

Well as you probably know there are a few gay bars in Dublin.
The George, the Front Lounge and Pantibar.

IF you are looking for a few quite drinks, try early evening either in the Front Lounge or Pantibar. Obviously like most bars after a certain time they fill up with people and the music gets louder, lol.
As for going into a gay bar, well it's just like an other bar. Because its a "gay bar" and you have never ventured into one , no doubt you will be nervous and probably think all sorts, but I wouldn't worry.
Most people in any bar wont even notice someone walking in so try and relax, have a drink and take things in!
As for meeting people , I would suggest you look up Outhouse webpage and see what activities they have.
Theres lots of groups you could join and meet other guys just like you.
Best of luck, I wish you well.

Thanks for that info guys, much appreciated, looking forward to seeing what they're like on the inside. Might even strike up conversation with a bit of luck and the Dutch courage
