Joke Of a System

    I registered with Irish Water (or so I thought) months ago. Got a account number & WPRN etc, I could log in and check my account detail's etc, I logged in a couple of times to make sure all was fine and it was, so no need to do anything else. My plan was to wait till this water grant was paid then to pay in full.

    So I was onto the Water Grant people yesterday, they said my account info was not sent over and I would need to contact Irish Water to find out why. So I rang Irish Water yesterday, turns out I did not in fact register with Irish water that I just registered to 'look at my account'. That's a joke system, I think its a safe assumption in this day and age that if you register online then get an account number, WPRN number and can look at your account online that you are in fact registered with the company. But no, I now don't have a TIN number (whatever that is) and can not get this grant.

    So this unclear system is after costing me 100 euro. I am not happy and this may push me over the edge into the just not paying group.

    - Name;
    - Address; and
    - Contact Number.

    Thanks in advance,

    We would advise that the person who didn't receive the letter to contact the Water Grant Support Team on 076 087 890 or 1890 100 043 as the Department of Social Protection administrate these letters containing the TIN.

    Please feel free to contact us with any other queries you may have.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

    No this does not work because when you ring the grant people they tell you it is irish waters fault as they didn't send your details over and you have to call them. i had no problem paying before but now i am pushed to the limit, 2 emails and 6 phonecalls now!!!

    It was destined from the start to be a joke.

    It won't. Perhaps you should send in a cv, that is if they'll have you. .

    Did you get anywhere with this, I'm in same position, no details sent by IW so no TIN no

    I would presume after 6mths of trying and failing to get them to update my account details they are on extra pay to avoid people getting the water grant. It's the only logical scenario. You can't update online and the customer service person can't update on phone it has to go to another department who never update your account until you phone more than 5 times. I suggest you do as I am. Log all your dealings emails and phone calls and make a complaint then write to your td and you may get something done.
