Any deals on subscription to Ancestry.com?

I'm looking for a deal on an Ancestry subscription. The sub I had expired and I planned to extend it with purchase of Family Tree Maker World Edition, which comes with six-month World sub to Ancestry. I ordered this through Tesco clubcard deals. After waiting for six weeks for it, they tell me that they don't provide the product anymore.

    Current pricing for Ancestry subscription:

    UK Worldwide—1 month £19.99, 1 year £179.99
    US World Explorer—1 month $34.99, 6 months $149.99

    At today's exchange rate, buying a year via ancestry.co.uk would cost €243.56. Or buying a year (six-month x 2) from ancestry.com would cost €265.54.

This month is "Family History Month" in the US, wondering if that usually means any deals on Ancestry subs. Anyone know of any good deals out there?

Usually there's a 20% discount on annual subs from Ancestry at BTOP.

Good to know. I know it can be expensive and I used to think of it as an occasional luxury but once they get your hooks into you, it's hard to live without it.

For sheer numbers of databases, I think FMP is much better value at the moment. Granted, Ancestry's search engine and hint system are far superior, but I maintain a sub for FMP and get an occasional month if necessary on Ancestry.
