    Hello All,

    Is there a way how to determine which broadband is connected in the house? I have just moved in and I can see that wifi is there but I don't know which company. The landlord doesn't know either as previous tenant did not inform.

    Thank you,
    Sandra

    The WiFi could be coming from one of the neighbour's houses. Any equipment for getting broadband should have been taken by the previous tenant, but if it hasn't then the provider will likely cancel the service pretty soon.

    Is there a router or other box in the house? Usually it'll be beside a phone point or a TV point. Though if it's wireless/satellite it could be in a closet or some other location.

    Hello Seamus,

    I plugged in my modem from the previous house and only then I started seeing wifi. So it should be mine.
    There were nothing left in the house to indicate what company they were with Just the landlord said that I can take it over because it is registered on the house. Not sure what did he mean by that though.

    Thanks,
    Sandra

    Wifi = turned on modem
    Wifi != active/working internet service

    If you mean you had actual internet access, then your modem is able to authenticate on the current line. Connect a landline phone to it, dial 199000, that'll give you the phone number.

    But you wont be able to do anything without the account number that you can only get from the last tenant. If you dont get it from them youll have to wait two months to have their service declared delinquent.
