    could anyone give me an approx cost of a new 10 unit milking parlour from scratch?thinking strongly about switching to dairy.

    Contact two or 3 different manufacturers and ask for quotes. Some do tanks as well so u may get a quote for them as well. It all depends on what you are putting in really. Haggle hard with them too. For 10 units I would put in feeders as well and a drafting system before thinking of adding anything else. There is also a grant available at the min. But best bet is contact a couple of manufacturers for quotes and check out a few local dairy farms to see who is best for servicing and get ideas for your own place. Local dairy discussion group may help
