Ovulation pain

    Hi ladies,
Am hoping someone can give some advice/has some insight.
Been ttc for a long time now. Usually v regular cycles 27-28 days. Most months I get ov pain day 13-14 and always on the right hand side.
Today is day 11 and I have ov pain on the left hand side which is unusual for me. Have been to my gp and am due to go for day 21 bloods on the 16th and a pelvic scan on the 5th nov.
So I guess I have two questions really...will doing the deed yesterday morning, tonight and tomorrow evening cover me if ovulation is today? And since I'm not temping or using opks, just relying on regular cycles and ov pain, should I leave day 21 bloods as is or try schedule them for sooner?
Any advice would be really appreciated. It's taken quite a bit of guts to post this as we haven't told anyone that we are having issues getting pregnant.

I always got my ovulation pain around day 11, I was on a few tracked cycles so bloods and scans confirmed day 14 was ovulation even when my pain was days 11/12. A nurse told me that its the follicle stretching with a maturing egg is what causes the pain, not the egg releasing.

Sperm can survive up to 5 days so better to have it there and waiting for the egg, so your timing sounds perfect.

You can go for your day 21 bloods this cycle or next. Its really to check for elevated levels of certain hormones to show that you ovulated correctly. Day 3 bloods are your baseline ones.

    Thanks Neyite,
Appreciate your advice :) since I've woken up with the pain still there, I'm taking that as a definite sign of you being right! Poor hubby will need a holiday when Ive finished with him!!
