What the hell has gone wrong with Carnsore? Up to the early spring time it was a reliable broadband delivering good speeds but now especially evenings and weekends its completely unreliable and so slow at times just drops out completely, unable to even check email.
I must get an old dial up modem again it would be faster lol :D:D:D

Have you reported the issue to them?

Thanks Guys, yes I am off Mayglass and I had heard that they are over subscribed so no point in complaining direct to them and getting cut off. Its a pity that they got greedy and over sold as they had been continueally offering a good service and I had recomended them to a lot of friends who joined up and they now give out to me as they were sold a pup.
I also heard that Rocket formerly Skytel are having problems as well.
Talking to the Siro guys and dont think they will be rolling out anything for rural areas in the near future but what about Eir they say that the Killinick will be fibre enabled next year but will believe it when I see it.
A good job I have a 4G signal on my phone.

    ...

    From http://www.openeir.ie/Our_Network/:
    KLK1_E01

Fibre Broadband Cabinet is planned for this location
    From https://www.eir.ie/eirfibreinfo/map/:
    KILLINICK

    eir Fibre launching January-March 2016
The former shows no date and I wouldn't trust the latter (these have moved around ... A LOT ).

Plenty of talk about eir FTTH here or if it's FTTC (eir Fibre) you are more interested, then see the chatter is here. :)

I had major problems with my connection at the start - but I knew how to present the evidence of what was going on, in order to prove the issue was on their side of the connection. Once that was established they were pretty quick resolving the issue.

I was happy enough with that, and the service thereafter.

There is Carnsore and Skytel/Rocket that are sharing same 5 GHz spectrum in south of Co. Wexford. Nothing they can do to improve speeds unless they start putting more masts or disconnecting users. Oversubscribed network/band is the problem.

Wait until fibre FTTH arives in your area.
KNN are working in the Killinick area replacing poles before putting up fibre cable. At least its a start but only God knows when it will be connected and enabled.

Gets bad every year in Carne from Paddy's day onwards with service returning to normal in September. Presumably due to the massive over subscription at the mobile parks.

The system was down for a day this week and they must have put in a fix. An improvement to speeds these last few days, average 10 down and 2 up.
Must be getting worried customers will move as fibre FTTH will be rolled out this year to some Wexford areas as crews from KN are in my area replacing poles to carry new cables and putting ducting under ground for cables as well.

There are other options depending where you live. Rural areas are often limited to services similar to Carnsore - such as Skytel/Rocket who have a pretty bad rep (although some people seem to have an OK service now). As soon as another option is available then I am definately leaving Carnsore (along with many others I should think).

Currently the 'service' offered by Carnsore cannot really be classed as a 'service' as although they do not offer a minimum speed, the speed that they do offer is not useable (1.5 mps DL at times).

When I have reported the problem to Carnsore they say that there is going to be an upgrade to the service. They have been saying this for months now and won't even explain what is causing the delay.

Sounds very like my provider. Speeds round 1-2MB, constant "upgrades" due or already done that make no difference.
