Repair or replace dishwasher - what would you do? (2)

Bosch dishwasher, both motors need to be replaced at a cost of €300 - only a 3 month warranty on the new motors.

Very disappointed with the fact that the Bosch only lasted 5 years - we thought we'd get longer-life from it based on the Bosch reputation. Dishwasher was well looked after, regularly cleaned etc. Sales people in the stores seem to be very surprised that it only lasted 5 years.

So what would you do - replace the motors or replace the dishwasher?

If you'd go with a new dishwasher, what brand would you recommend? Budget is tight and after this experience, I'm starting to think of buying a budget brand like a belling - same size (13/14 place), it has the cutlery drawer and similar programs as the bosch - rather than going for a big brand name.

I've taken to buying cheap and cheerful and getting better value for money. Repairing is just a waste of money. For all kitchen appliances, go cheap. My first washing machine lasted 6 years, second one 8, third 4 and last cheap one is still going 5 years later. My dishwasher is on the blink after 5 years, so it'll be another cheap one. Same with tumble drier.

I went with ikea appliances this time. 5 year parts and labour warranty on all but the cheapest ones. They're made by whirlpool.
    €375 for an integrated one.

I find it hard to believe both motors have gone faulty together, did the service guy remove them and test them, or assume they are worn ?
