Ambulance Fees

    I am resident in the Rep of Ireland and I am wondering about ambulance fees and who pays them. An ambulance was called for me when I had a little too much to drink. It was called without my consent and I did not ask for it to be called. I was taken into the ambulance for about 2 months where they just talked to me - didn't give me anything. After they told me to just go home. The following day I was told I would receive a bill of €400-€500 for the call out! I am wondering if this is a bill I should expect to receive and if it is my place to pay for it although I didn't request it?
