I went to turn the heating on just now and by the sounds of it the fuel pump is not kicking in. There is oil in the tank and I went to bleed the fuel pump and there is oil coming out. Any idea's what it problem might be....as to why the fuel pump isn't starting?

Have you tried pressing the red reset button on the front of the burner and press the reset button under the small black cap beside the thermostat controller on the boiler.

I've pressed the red reset button and it just clicks once but no movement on anything as I've often had to press it before when I ran out of oil. Thermostat controller? Where would that be?

It would be very similar to this, the reset button in this case in under the small black cover beside the dial..

My thermostat doesn't look like that. It's a rectangular red box with just a dial but no black button.

What is the make and model of the boiler?

Was the red reset button glowing red? and when you pressed it, did you hear any noise at all, like a low hum, but nothing else.

    It's a Riello burner

motor capacitor would be first to be ruled out then fuel pump then motor bearings

It could be one of a few things, control box, capacitor or motor / pump seizure.
It looks like you may need to get someone to look at it, as some of the parts are too expensive to be changing them on a trial and error basis.
If you don't already have someone in mind, post your location and you should get a couple of recommendations.
