Travelling to Reading

Hi, I'm looking to get to Reading from London and trying to find the cheapest ways to get there. Looking at train expenses it's like £40 for a return ticket which seems a bit pricey given that it's not a long journey. Need a mode of transport that will return to London sometime after 10pm

£40 sounds like you're getting the express from Paddington? If you want the cheapest option then get the train from Waterloo. It's about £18 but will take 1.5 hours as opposed to the 30 minutes from Paddington.

edit: Not sure when you're going but the Express is also £18 at least today, tomorrow... Try getting the off-peak return rather than the anytime-return.

Check www.thetrainline.com for discounted fairs or national express for bus options.

Trains are expensive in the UK

£40 if you buy two anytime singles I'd say

If you are travelling outside peak times it's £18.10 for a day off peak return as mentioned above
