Is this a false widow spider?

I was just chilling at home in Dublin, when this thing crawled down the wall. I took a few pics of it, while still alive, and a few closer ones after I killed it. Doing some googling I found close resemblance to the false widow spider and I have heard terrible stories about it. :S So I was wondering what kind of spider is…
