Sharp Aquos 49" Full HD LED TV - €449

At Tesco. Website says out of stock, but it is available in store.

Picked one up today on a whim, can't argue with it for the price.

Now, the Sharp of today is certainly not the Sharp of yesterday, and this is a UMC panel - so in a lot of ways, you are simply getting way you pay for.

Says it's 100hz, but it's whatever basic processing software, essentially is a 50hz TV.

I've played a few Blu-Rays on it, and the picture quality is quite good - not excellent, but very good and excellent considering the price.

Thought it was a decent price for a walk-in retail set.

I was looking at this TV in Tesco during the week and considered buying it.I looked for reviews for it and I found very little information .
I saw this one in Power City http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-14-50LD266 that looks very similar but has a 50" screen for the same money.

No smarts but you can use an external box / chromecast
Doesn't have VGA but you can get HDMI to VGA cheaply

BUT only has 2 HDMI though. And most people need HDMI for DVD / Box for UK channels.
