Check that you don't have any splits. Also check the seams. Nikwax gets good reviews but imo it's always better to get a decent pair of shoes rather than try to fix poor ones.

Do you know what i reckon using the air compressor to blow the grass off your ones and twos wrecks their water rebuffing ability. I will not to use the air on my next pair of waterproof shoes (when i win an aul voucher mind) to test my theory.

I bought a pair of crocs golf shoes on adverts. They are rubber right up to near the ankle. Best money I ever spent. Really comfy too. They are proper waterproof shoes. Most of the rest are water resistant is all

Any one try the water proof sockshttp://m.ebay.com/itm/351532367343
They might be worth an investment

I bought a pair of waterproof socks in Aldi last year and find them good although a bit warm in hot sunny weather. Anyway they have them again this week so I bought a second pair (although first pair are still fine) while a bit expensive, there are worse things you could spend €17.99 on. They had only a couple of pairs left in Nutgrove store yesterday.

I've used Nikwax on suede boots before, it's very good but it wouldn't keep your golf shoes totally waterproof on a wet day.

If your shoes are leather you could try something like mink oil to improve their water resistance. Leather is porous so it will never be fully waterproof but the mink oil definitely helps sealing them up.

If you want something completely waterproof gore-tex is mighty. I've a pair of old Ecco golf shoes with a gore-tex lining, they're as comfortable as slippers and as waterproof as wellies!
