Hardiman Road Drumcondra to the Airport

    Hey guys,

Just looking for a bit of advice. I'm heading off at 6am on the 16th of October for a flight at Dublin airport. I will be leaving from Hardiman road in Drumcondra. Would there be any public transport so early on in the mornings ?

Probably a stupid question but I live out in Meath and commute on my motorcycle for about 99% of the year so I never really use Dublin Bus or Bus Eireann.

What time is your flight departing at?

That will dictate whether public transport is available or not, allowing for check-in time.

Ehh the flight departs from Dublin Airport at 05:55. I just thought there might be some sort of shuttle bus service running considering its fairly close to the airport. A taxi might be the next option.

Ok - that's a bit different from "I'm heading off at 6am for a flight at Dublin Airport ", which implies that's when you plan on leaving the house!

You will need to be at the airport for between 04:15 and 04:30 for that flight, to allow for security queues, as that is the start of the busiest period at the airport.

No Dublin Bus services operate at that time of the night.

The only public transport available would be Aircoach, but the nearest stop to you would be outside Drumcondra Station which is quite a walk from where you are going from, and it is somewhat difficult to predict what time the buses will arrive at that stop, as the timetable is not stop specific.

I would suggest that your best option would be a taxi.

Apologies should have worded it better! Noted with the timetables. If I can find out its origin surely I should be able to get some idea of what time it will arrive at. Although waiting on a bus at 4am in the morning isnt really an ideal situation ... also missing the bus would suck balls!

Looks like its a taxi! Much appreciated guys/gals!

If you can judge how long an Aircoach will take to get from Leopardstown to Drumcondra at that time, then you're a better man than I.

Given that the frequency is every 30 minutes until the 04:00 departure, I would suggest that if you missed it, it would be a bit of a problem.
