Access to collected personal information

    Hi, as part of being hired by a company, I am being investigated by an external company (which is from the UK). Their website states:

    You may instruct us to provide you with any personal information we hold about you. Provision of such information will be subject to the payment of a fee (currently fixed at 10.00).

    I am surprised about the fee. Is there not any Irish/UK/EU law in place that forces that company to give me for free the personal information they have collected about me?

    Not for free. Data holders are entitled to charge a fee.
