Problems with upper Teeth

I am wondering if anyone can help. I have an upper tooth that seems to be causing problems. Recently I gave it a slight hit. Since then I have been getting sensations up that side of my face. It feels like pins and needles at times and others it feels like a nerve is being pinched along with a headache like sensation travelling to my ear. I also feel sensations going up to my nose and between my eyes on my forehead. There is no filling in the tooth and it's cavity free. Bear in mind I have some gum recession and the roots are slightly exposed. When I touch the area where the gum should be that is exposed it feels like tinfoil touching a filling if that makes sense.
I would just like any pointers into what may be wrong. I went to a dentist and vitality tests etc all point to tooth being fine but its literally a constant headache.

    Many Thanks.
