    Question 2: Water grant form won't recognise IBAN and BIC

    The Water conservation grant is paid and administered by the Department of Social Protection. If you contact the Water Grant Support Team on 1890 100 043, a member of the team should be able to assist you further.

    You can find more information on the grant here.

    Question 3: Email response delay

    Due to a large volumes of queries, we are currently experiencing a backlog which is causing delays in response to emails. We endeavour to respond to all queries as soon as possible.

    Alternatively, if you would like us to investigate your query, please send the following details by private message:

    - Name;
    - Address
    - Contact Number

    Question 4: Limescale damage to water systems

    As limescale (also known as hard water) is not harmful to humans and is fit for human consumption, the Commission of Energy Regulation has determined that no discount or rebate will apply to households that are affected.

    Irish Water’s priority is to provide clean, safe drinking water for homes on a national level. As limescale is not harmful to your health, it is currently not a top priority.

    However, if you are experiencing issues, we would advise you contact an accredited plumber, who may be able to advise of a filtration system or water softener for your water needs

    Question 5: No Meter Fitted

    Requests cannot be made to have a meter installed as this is not a service that Irish Water currently offer.

    If you haven't had your meter installed in an already metered area, this may be due a number of reasons e.g. the stopcock could not be located on the property, your property is on a shared connection, there is something obstructing the installation site etc.
