    Hi all,

A fairly immobile family member is going from Kilcock to Bayside soon, by train.

They can walk but with some difficulty.

I can't purchase a ticket from Kilcock to Bayside online. In Connolly, are there ticket machines close to where the Commuter/Dart trains stop?

Is Bayside manned, in case theu can't get to a ticket machine in Connolly?

Actually, can ye get a ticket to Bayside from the tickets machines at Kilcock?

    Thanks

The ticket machines (and ticket office) are just in the main doors on the left hand side.

    You can't miss them!

The ticket machines in Connolly are about 100 meters from where the train from Kilcock stops but it's about 350+ meters back to platform 7 for a DART to Bayside. With stairs and a long steep ramp for someone who is impaired walking wise.

Bayside is unmanned most of the time except for peak hours.

They'd be going through Bayside before 10am I'd say.

I'd be shocked if the kilcock machine can't print to Bayside though.

It won't allow such tickets to be purchased.

Is your family member entitled to free travel? If so, they just need to get the free ticket for the Kilcock-Connolly leg. After that, it is a matter of scanning / showing their free travel pass.

    Thanks for the info.

I am not sure why yet, but they got a ticket to Bayside on the train itself.

If it is true that the ticket machines can't do Dart tickets too, that is so daft.

I will know later how their journey went. Main thing is they got where they were going!

    Thanks all!

I have always found that too that ticket machines located outside the DART line will not/cannot issue DART serviced station tickets unless they also happen to be serviced by Intercity trains. So just Connolly station.

For example I could not buy a ticket from Carrick on Shannon to Howth Junction from the machine, I had to go to the booking desk and they could give me one.

I find it a crazy setup.

Apparently the IE staff when told about not being able to get the ticket to Bayside were shocked. They even went to the machine to try and were effing and blinding that it couldn't be done.

They got a ticket person to get on at Maynooth and sort my family member out which was nice.
