What would be the best outfit option for a pharmaceutical placement interview? I was told slacks, shirt and waistcoat... is that a bit too much?

Shirt, slacks and a waistcoat? When is your interview, 1993? You could top that look off with a nice clip-on ponytail, Marty Pellow.

Suit (jacket and trousers), tie, shirt and shoes to match the suit. If your wearing a coat make sure it suitable for wearing with a suit, ie no sports coats. No need for waistcoat but important to present yourself well.

Best of luck with your interview BTW :-)

Nobody wears waistcoats these days unless they're on stage. You can't go wrong with a suit in most places if unsure - if you don't have a suit a good shirt, shoes, trousers & a plain tie.

Man at interview = suit, shirt , tie. Polished shoes. As far as I am concerned there is no debate.

Didn't wear a tie to my last interview, couldn't find it on the morn. Tried borrowing one off the aul fella but he'd nothing but naff 90s ties.

I'd an ironed shirt and slacks and looked neat and I got the job.

This was for technical work in the semiconductor industry, I'd say the pharmaceutical industry is much the same.

    Ditch the waistcoat.

    Wear a suit and tie.

If no suit wear trousers, shirt & tie.
