Hoping to surprise the hubby to be with a nice night away to Kilkenny - with work Saturdays are our only hope.

started to look up and hotels are about €170 for 1 night.. yikes!

can any one recommend where I should look or maybe a nice central guest house/ B&B ?

any tips are very welcomed :)

Have a look on Air B and B and see what full houses or apartments you can rent in Kilkenny as they will be probably like 100 euros for the night and you will get the full house or apartment to yourself.

celtic house b&b is located on Michael St. (City centre)
Rosquil House is on the Castlecomer Road (10-15 min walk)
The 2 listed above are excellent, here's a list of more...... http://www.kilkennycityonline.com/accommodation-in-kilkenny.html

Stayed in Fanad House previously. It's ideally located, 3 minute stroll to town, across the road from the Castle Park. It was cheap when i stayed, but that was some time ago.
