    Hi all going looking at a 320d bmw over the weekend , anything i should be looking over in particular ? does the 6 speed box give trouble etc ?

    Check for Service History and in particular, the Breather/Turbo filter been changed during its lifetime.

    It's the 150bhp facelift anyway, there's no 6 speed in the pre-facelift. So minimum 2001/2. If it's a coupé it's 2004-06.

    Minimum of late 2003 you mean since the 6 speed wasn't introduced in any model until then

    Check for rust on the front wings, rear arches, sills around the doors, bootlid & rear panel. As said already, make sure the turbo breather filters been changed regularly.

    Apart from that, no major issues.

    The sub frame was a big problem on the E46 too. Well known to crack.

    Sorry wrong there. It was introduced with the face lift version in 2002. I had it in my 2002 SE (one of my previous cars).

    :eek: there ya go!

    I've only ever seen 5 speeds in the 02/03 models and only seen 6 speeds from 03 on.
