    Hi Irish Water,

I am water in only, so my annual bill is around 135.00

I paid the first Bill, around 35.00

I just got a payment from the Gov't. Of 100.00

Can I pay this direct to you I.e 100.00 over the counter at the Post Office, as that will make us quits.

Or will the Post Office only take the amount on my second Bill at the counter, if so can I send you a cheque for 100.00

    Hi martinn123,

Thank you for contacting us and apologies for the delay in responding as we were seeking clarification form the relevant department.

The Post Office can accept payment on the amount owed on the bill and are able to credit your Irish Water account.

We would advise that the grant be used for conservative measures but this is at the individuals discretion. Customers may also credit their account by sending a cheque to:

    PO BOX 860,
    South City Delivery Office,
    Cork City,
    Cork.

For more information on water charges, please click here and for information on our payment options please click here.

    Kind regards,
    Niall

    Hi Niall,

    Thanks for the reply,

I read your message, as saying the Post Office can ONLY accept the amount  on my bill, therefore they cannot accept 100.00

I can send you a cheque, but you not clarify that I can send a cheque for 100.00

I suppose I just need to know that your system will accept what is an overpayment, or will the ''Computer say No''

From my point of view If I am given a Grant of 100, I might as well pay it to you, as that's what it is for. Water Conservation is not an issue for me, I will never have a meter as water comes to me from behind my home, across some fields, in rural area.

The Post Office will be able to accept the 100EUR towards your Irish Water Account. Alternatively, if you send a cheque to the above address for 100EUR we will also be able to allocate this to your account.

If you choose to send a cheque we would advise quoting your Account Number as we will be able to issue this payment to your account directly.

I hope you find this information helpful.

    Kind regards,
    Niall
