    Hi everyone,

I'm wondering if anybody knows a straightforward way to get to Ballymount from Maynooth, specifically the Westgate business park? I don't drive so I've to use public transport. I tried to google it but it suggested getting the train into town and then getting the 56a, which doesn't seem to be very regular. any suggestions welcome.

    thanks!

Instead of the 56A bus, you might consider using the Luas Red Line stop at Kingswood, which would be about a 10-15 minute walk to Westgate.

The 27/77a could be an option either. They would leave you on Greenhills Road which is approximately a 10 minute walk from westgate

Have you tried www.a-b.ie ? Put your exact details into it and perhaps increase the walking element to 20 minutes and see what pops up.

56A isn't frequent but it is very predictable. Depends on what time you need to get there and what time you would be in town at.

I'd get the 66x/67x to Heuston and Luas out from there, it's not a bad walk from Red Cow to Ballymount.
    Cuts out the quays.
I don't think there's a bus going along the outer ring road.

Maybe look at getting the 66/67 to the west county hotel and get the 76 to tallaght. I'm not sure how far the 76 may leave you from it I think it will leave you on the belgard road.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks for your replies. I'm just wondering would the area I would have to walk from, say at the Kingswood luas stop be a bit dodgy? Just wondering what the safest options would be walking at night, in winter, etc!

    Thanks a mil!

I would suggest that you would be far better using the bus - either the 56a to Ballymount Road or the 27 or 77a to Greenhills Road will drop you much closer to your destination than the LUAS.

It's a straight road over the M50 from Kingswood Luas, like walking on a main road, you won't encounter anyone. The Luas itself would be the dodgy part of your trip. It's wide open though so you would get soaked through in the rain.

The 27/56A would definitely be nearer and the better option. If you said the times I could give you a pretty accurate estimate when 56As would pass by in either direction.

    Hi everyone,

Thanks again for your help! I'm actually enquiring as I had a job interview in the Ballymount area. I'm not sure if I got it yet, but I'd be looking to get to Ballymount at half-nine or so in the mornings.

    Thanks again! :)

The 8.30am 56A from town would pass by the Business Park at 9.10/9.15
