Not sure if the cattle are recovered, or just a lad arrested?

Some ammount of stories going around about this.
Will be interesting reading more about those who stole the stock and where they went.

There's a fooking big difference for the family who owned the stock.

Big difference is right. At least it has stopped some people saying it was an inside job.....

If a conviction would love the truck etc to be confiscated.

Donning my tin-foil hat, we wouldn't want to threaten the Peace Process, now, would we?

No it's just the public 'lack of' service again.
You'd think with the lorries on camera that the answer was handed to them on a plate

False plates on the lorries, and your CCTV is suddenly almost useless. Split the load onto different trucks and they're gone.
Neighbour was robbed, thief had a red mondeo. But the reg. number belonged to a red golf. Never caught, but the neighbour went into a home because he was scared to live alone after.

Cattle trailer lorries are pretty distinctive and good ones cost big money so should be easily identifiable if you can link trailer to lorry, that been said when the gardai hadn't the cop on to have that lunatic up in Louth locked up our at least on a dangerous persons list you'd have to question they'll get a result here...

IF you can positively identify the trailer. Even then, knowing and proving are two different things.
Look at all the diesel laundering plants found over the years. Often someone is arrested and either released without charge, or its reported that "A file is being sent to the DPP" How many were ever charged and convicted? If you or I were found with a slightest trace of green in the jeep, bet yer ass you'd be up in court with two grand of a fine. Automatic.
Softly softly policing going on for years, for some sections of society.

I don't think you can really blame the guards. It's the whole justice system, free legal aid, bail, no room in jail etc. Feckin criminals know their rights.
