SQI report for a child car seat?

sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I bought a car up the north, applied for a vrt exemption which i got. got my sons car seat fitted - iso fix special needs car seat that does up to age 8.
I needed a receipt for the revenue, went to register the car in the nct center and they are demanding a SQI form for the car seat.
I've called the revenue who have told me i don't need this form for a car seat its only for conversions and they have told the nct the same but they wont back down.
The result now is tomorrow is day 30 of the car being bought into the south and my insurance policy will be cancelled if i don't have the car changed over.

The supervisor from the revenue said in that case every one with a child car seat would need this report and its ridiculous but i cant seem to get around it. IL have to go get an engineer to do a report which i cant really afford or il be without a way to drive my disabled child to school.

Has anyone else had this problem?

i may be wrong here but installing your seat is essentially a conversion.
i it was not, then why would you be getting a rebate.
i know it's just an isofix seat, and I've seen disabled driers who just needed a steering spinner installed.
they still needed paperwork for it though.

surely you could find a sqi who can look at the car and fill out the form? I don't think it's prohibitively expensive. even ring one and get their opinion.

i woukdbt assume that he person in revenue is right.

if i had taken a car seat out and put in one id need it or put a ramp in, this is just a seat that sits on the normal car seat so it doesn't change the structure of the car.

The insurance don't count it as an adaption, the revenue supervisor has called the nct center and told them i don't need it but they are adamant that the revenue want it.

Ive a few friends with the same car seat that didn't need it done either.

The rules with the disabled driver/passenger scheme are that id have to make some change to the car like tint the windows or buy a car seat and since i bought the seat second hand - they are over 3000 new a receipt from the mobility company that fitted it counted as my change.

    Try a different NCT centre.

The revenue called me back they have been trying to sort it out since 8 am this morning, they are in agreement with me and they have emailed and called the nct head office.
Galway nct center have said they are requesting SQI forms for everyone on the disabled driver/passenger scheme which is 150 a go. its expensive enough being a full time carer and especially buying a new car and getting special seating without them adding more unnecessary expense on and blaming the revenue for it. we had to do medical exams fill out tons of paperwork etc to get on this scheme and that was meant to be the hardest part!!
