    Any ideas on this issue. We are on efibre and wireless the speed I'd 25mb but when plug in Ethernet cable from modem to laptop speed increases to 75mb. Tried to pawn off earlier saying was phone fault & recommended I buy an eircom phone!!!!
    I declined & insisted on engineer call out. But like to get some ideas what may be so won't be pawned off again.

    All suggestions appreciated.

    If you get 75 over Ethernet you do not have a connection problem and are wasting an engineer's time and could end up being charged for the call out (KN charge 120 quid)

    Your problems are wireless related, change channel and see does it improve. Get a Wi-Fi analyzer app for your smartphone to see what channels are in use nearby and pick a channel well away. Also you need to tell us what devices you are using to test the wireless with, older wireless 'g' will top out at about 25-30mbit like you're experiencing. No provider will take responsibility for a wireless issue as it's dependent on local frequency use and interference in or around your own home, something they cannot control.

    ISP's only guarantee wired speeds. You are wasting your time getting an engineer callout.
