Teeth Veneers

So I joined snapchat a few weeks ago and am SHOCKED at how different Suzanne Jackson (Sosueme) and Pippa O'Connor look with their new veneers.

I would like to get something done to my teeth this coming year.. And would hope veneers would make my smile look a bit bigger.

I have teeny teeth and when I smile there's a gap either side of space where if I had bigger teeth I imagine it would look better.

Have any boards members got veneers?
Do they really file your real teeth down to nothing to fit them and how much would a whole set cost?!

My friends Mam got a full set and they cost 45k. That's all I know about them.

I remember SoSueMe saying they didnt file down her teeth for her treatment. Theyre a new type of veneers or something. She has a piece written about her experience on her blog if you havent seen it already.

Id love to get it done too. So expensive though!

I've heard it's like 70% cheaper to get them done in Turkey.

They look ridiculous on most people. You'd be better off having all your teeth pulled out and getting dentures because they all look the same.

Yeah I have to agree, I think they look terrible. Each to their own but I really would dislike them for me personally- would much rather just to whiten my own & look natural.

You have to file down your own natural teeth?! Omg why would anyone do this? That's like self mutilation. Honestly that's horrific. I would find that both emotionally and physically traumatising. Op would you try clear braces or something first?

I saw sue on a TV interview since she's had them done too and she seems to be having issues with her S and Fs, that she didn't before. Is this common with veneers?

I'd recommend you post over in the dental forum the guys on there seen very knowledgeable and there are a lot of dentists over there that will be able to give your great advice. From my understanding yes you need to get your teeth filed down then the porcelain veneers are cemented over you teeth. You would be looking at tens of thousands for a full mouth set.

I'd love to get veneers but sosueme would put you off why are they so big she has horse teeth now they were perfect before she went near then!!

Sue's are desperate. These bloggers have more money than sense

I doubt she paid for them, lots of bloggers, but Sue particularly, gets treatments for free so she'll blog about them and in essence do some advertising for the clinic.

I highly doubt that veneers cost in the tens of thousands and its something you go to your local dentist for usually or the person they recommend not someone you saw doing some bloggers so the return for a clinic just wouldn't be worth it. They may have given her a discount if she mentioned them but I doubt they were free.

Of course they do, there are loads of specialist cosmetic dentists now that are looking for business and have ads in papers and on tv. They also do paid for slots on beauty and fashion shows like xpose and the afternoon show. The OPs post is proof of what an efficient vehicle that social media and snapchat are to advertise to women particularly.
She may not have got it free but she certainly got a hefty discount. It's well known that's her gig now, she got a bed from Harvey Norman and snapchatted the full experience. Some bloggers charge 300 to turn up to opening of a nail salon etc. Some have gotten cars on loan that they feature in snaps.

I went for a free consultation at mydental (where suzanne jackson got her veneers done). I enquired about getting veneers and was given a quote of €11.5K....no way I'd spend that. I'm getting clear braces for €4K instead and embracing my natural teeth. Veneers also need to be replaced every 10-15 years and the ones that are applied over your teeth rather than filing down your enamel can easily break off and can only be applied on your upper teeth, lower still need to be filed down

I dont want to turn this into another blogger bashing thread, but is it just me or are they all getting their teeth done lately!?
Four of them that I follow have been putting up snaps of their trips to the dentist in the past week....hmmm...

100%. Teeth done, facial peels, the works. No problem with them getting stuff done for free or a discount as long as they disclose this to their followers and stop taking them for fools.

Just saw Sue on xpose there, Jesus she looks totally different when she speaks. She had a nice smile to begin with, it was actually her best quality I think. Do not like the veneers she has at all

She's almost unrecognisable. Definitely looks like Janice Dickinson now.

And not the young Janice either.

So you've reopened a one year old thread to complain that you don't find her attractive anymore (while quoting yourself)??

    Lol

I dont know who either of the people mentioned in the opening post are but before/after pics would be useful to judge whether or not the dental work looks good?

Why so defensive? I'm new to this forum..no need to mock me...also can I just clarify I never said she was attractive before and don't find her attractive anymore. Also her teeth are a marked improvement but just don't suit the face. Resulting in a very long looking face. no amount of fillers will make this long face look attractive. Fact!

I wasn't really commenting on her dental work, just that she now looks like Janice Dickinson...maybe I should have gone on to the "fillers" thread, if there is one😉
