Conflicting information about the Boiler & Controls Grant

I'm in the process of getting quotes to have my Gas boiler replaced.

The existing system already has separate heat / water controls, digital 7 day timer and thermostatic rad valves on all rads.

I don't have a room thermostat which I need to get.

However, one contractor has said I need and electric immersion for the grant and another has said I don't need it.

Could someone clarify If I need an electric immersion for the Grant?

I wouldn't have thought you would need an immersion fitted if it wasn't present already.

I think you need to fit controls to it if it exists already.

My existing setup already heats the Water and the Rads separately, or together, so I don't see why I would need an electric Immersion.

I checked with the SEI folks and if you don't have an electric immersion then you don't need to install one for the Grant.
