Have been on the hunt for a new car for a while, test driven the below

    - Sante Fe
    - Outlander
    - Smax
    - Superb Estate :)
    - Sorrento

What is the lead time? assuming its broadly similar if you want one for the new year or it is brand/model specific?

I factory ordered a Skoda the June bank holiday weekend and had it by the august bank holiday weekend so 8 weeks. If the model is in high demand (and I'd guess the new Superb will be) it could take longer. I got lucky with shipping times from what I've heard.

Can't help with the rest, the Koreans and Japs tend to be whatever is in stock.

Ordered a new Sorento a few years ago and was only waiting 1 week. It depends whether the spec and colour is in stock.

Is there an an average amount i can expect to negotiate off a new car?

I would have thought both lead time and discount will be very much model specific.
For instance if you want a sorrento and the dealer knows the distributor has a batch coming in your spec quickly then a deal will be done.
If you want a particular spec of a car in high demand , discount may be a lot less.
Also if you are trading in a car this complicates matters again.
Best talk to a dealer re what you're interested in.
