Ive come across this security course online, seems pretty good for the price etc. Im also currently studying for my HGV Licence as my main aim is to get a job in G4S or Brinks, etc as a cash- in - transit driver, would this course be the right one for this sort of job?

Working in the CIT business requires a CIT PSA License, you can only be issued with one when your working for a CIT company that is PSA approved. Dont waste your time and money with static or DSP courses, they are no use in the CIT Sector.

Also when you say HGV do you mean C Licence? Just an FYI im pretty sure a C/ rigid licence is all that required. i.e. There's no CIT companies running artics that im aware of. Most if not all at the minute require a C licence minimum as the bigger vans they have demand it. And also your CPC courses.

In terms of jobs you have G4S/Brinks/GSLS/ SENACA & RMS, there may be a few smaller ones but there the main ones I can think of.

Private and contract security organizations are unpleasant to work for. In the event that your heart is set of security work, I'd recommend you search for in-house, corporate, or privatized security. Search for positions that will pay reasonable wages, give advantages and appropriately prepare/train their staff.

Corporate is where its at, unless you prefer boots on the ground work.

Id still go for the static and door security course tho just as a fail safe that i could get a job at that if all else fails
yea just a regular c licence is what im planning on getting, would that be enough to apply for a CIT job? And they would then train you into the CIT PSA licence or what way does it work?
what exactly would corporate security be then for example?

Ya the company gives you the forms to fill out to get the licence. The C licence is perfect, not sure on CPC.

Corporate security for companies like Facebook, Google, financial institutions etc. Blue Chip clients providing high end security solutions.

For CIT g4s and brinks are the biggest. Few more in Dublin, and others around the country. Where are you based?

sounds perfect! Ill have to look into the cpc or if they need one
that would be ideal, i presume you could get shift work with them? or night shifts? that would suit me big time
Based in cork, I dont see many jobs advertised for it, would it be worth emailing them your cv, etc when Im all ready for work ?

CIT work is mostly days and evenings. Never heard of CIT at night, at least where I used to work. Static and DSP can be 24/7. G4S have a depot in cork, I think brinks do also. Absolutely send a CV once you have all your bits. In Dublin GSLS and G4S were hiring lately. Check indeed.ie and irishjobs.ie

Well I plan on doing a security course first to get a job doing basic security night shifts hopefully for a while which can then fund my lessons and test fee etc for my C licence and then go onto CIT driving! Will definitely do that! Sound for the advice !
