€30 cheaper than the cheapest previous price, well spotted.

Will be interesting to see if the 32 gb versions drop in price also.

Great price but before deciding its worth noting that the new model was recently announced.

Every review mentions the 4:3 aspect ratio....

Have any users found this off putting?

The new one will probably 600 - 650 euro (without keyboard) I'd say as the build quality looks great

I'm tempted by this but I heard the performance was disappointing given the hardware. I don't know if that's been solved with updates, or will be by android M

No, can't say I have. 4:3 is great for reading, video is a little smaller than it would be on the same-sized wide screen but it doesn't make a difference really you're only arm's length from it. Plus it's a pretty good screen anyway.

If you can get over the backlight bleed and other build quality issues the tablet itself is very good.

Lovely tablet 4:3 is not noticeable. Solid build and excellent battery life and marshmallow is coming to it shortly.

No issues with it here but expectation might be different by other potential buyers

I got one myself this week. Way faster than my N10. The screen size is not a problem for any activity, but it is a bit small for video.

On the flip side it is much more portable than the N10, you are guaranteed 2 years of updates (as the tablet is 1 y/o), the price ks a steal and the upcoming Pixel C doesn't quite appeal to me at this stage.

I like mine but the battery life is a big step down from my 4 year old ipad.

kinda would like the 32gig at that price, will hold out. good deal though

Why would you buy this over a laptop?? For a little more money theirs no comparison?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,272 ✭✭✭✭Atomic Pineapple

Apples and Oranges kinda comparison though. You don't really use a tablet for what you'd use a laptop and vice versa.

Laptops are pointless and bulky to me, I have no need for one. If I want a keyboard I'd get a dock for a tablet. If I want to actually do something with a computer I will use a proper PC.

Exact same here. Laptops aren't good for casual use, tablets are far better. Any sort of intensive use, you should be using a PC. There are some exceptions for which laptops fill a role, but I don't use them anymore unless I have to.

This is really then a €250 Browser?

You appear to be new to this century, it must be scary and confusing to behold all of these wonders. Perhaps this may help you out:

No, can't see myself buying a laptop again

Now, a Chromebook or an Ultrabook, that's a different story;)

I know what you're saying though, for productivity, you can't beat a PC or an Ultrabook. But for media (music/movies), communication (hangouts/viber/skype), light productivity (google docs) or browsing, a tablet is great.

I would never spend more than €400 on a tablet - or if i was it would be a tablet in the form of the Microsoft Surface Pro (though some people dismiss it as a tablet because it doesn't allow apps without first installing an android emulator - but the first tablet, the GRiD Pad, launched in 1989. It ran MS DOS and used a stylus to input text, it didn't run apps, yet it was a tablet!)

Why isn't the 32GB version down at the same price as 2 months ago.. Would have snapped it up if it was €249

Why would you buy it over 300 cans of beer in Aldi would be my question. If you're in the market for a tablet rather than beer though, it looks like a good deal.

Damn, didn't pull the trigger early enough, its gone up to €269.99 now! Too pricey for 16Gb IMO.

The white version of the 16gb is down to €209.99 now, and the €10 voucher offer is still going till the 19th of Nov.

Offer ends today. I would advise to collect in store straight away instead of reserving as I wasn't allowed collect the S6 last weekend when I reserved on a similiar 1 day only deal.

People seem to ignore no code requests, can bans start to be issued for it? With black Friday coming up something needs to be done.
