07 Yaris - Window washer not working

Hi - I wonder can anyone help.
The windscreen washer is not working. Well sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't. I can hear the pump working but mostly nothing comes out. There is water in the reservoir. Then for no apparent reason it works again and sprays water.
Are there any obvious reasons for this and things I could easily check?

    Thanks a lot

Does it work in the rear? When it's not working is there are sign of water appearing out of the nozzles? Could be a simple blockage.

Yes the rear is working fine.
Sometimes there is nothing, then sometimes yes there is a little dribble coming out the nozzle. When it does work ok, it usually starts off weak and then the spray seems to build up pressure, like as if it is clearing a blockage. But I have cleaned the nozzle holes with a pin. So could it be something in the line itself? Can I easily check/clean that out myself?
    Cheers

You could try take it to a petrol station and use the air for the tyres to spray air in to the nozzles to clear a blockage or else use a kneedle carefully to clear any dirt that's there. Another option is to open the bonnet and disconnect the hose where it connects to the nozzle and then turn on the washer, if the water comes out the hose you know the blockage is at the nozzle.

Good idea, thanks very much I'll try that!

There are 2 seperate pumps for front and rear on the newer Yaris, unlike the original model.

Thanks. I was to able to take the hose off the front one and the pump is working fine and the water is flowing. I couldn't access the whole length of the hose as it goes underneath a load of plastic moulding but I squeezed whatever I could see and it seems to be working grand now! Fingers crossed.
