I'm not sure, its best or email some of them and phone them. When I came here I had travel insurance, but I stupidly forgot to check about motorcycle accidents. Luckily, never had an accident, but I would make damn sure you're covered for this.

Have you ridden a motorbike/moped before? Be very very careful. It's not hard, especially if its an automatic. But the drivers here are shocking. I'm very careful on my bike and even then I can't even count the number of times I've had to jam on the breaks. I've seen accidents, and I've even had a couple of offs (very minor, both times trying to avoid hitting some idiot). Every single day I come across someone in a car or jeep that just casually changes lanes cutting right across me. I'm not trying to put you off, just watch yourself...especially in town/city centers.

Depending on where you, the local 'traffic rules' are different. Where I am, if you're on a bike a red light means nothing once there is no traffic. And if you're like me, watch your mirrors constantly. Thai people driver (bikes and cars) are impatient and will consistently overtake you...bikes and cars will fly past you on both sides.

But in saying all that a bike is the way to go here, nothing beats it. Enjoy your holiday :)

Ahhh ok, you'll be fine then. What part are you going? Don't just rent a bike in the first place you see, go online and check which place is the best in the area you're staying. There are some dodgy places which will try to get as much money out of you as possible, be it through ridiculous prices or through scamming. A friend of mine was forced to pay 2000 baht in Phuket for a scratch on bike that was already there. So take pictures of the bike before you get on it. Most are genuine and happy to get your business, but there are always one or two who are less than honest.
