Garda Tunic

    Hi,

    I am trying to get hold of a Garda Tunic and wondered if anyone knew a place that stocked them?

    If anyone used to watch Father Ted it is the same tunic that the Garda Sgt used to wear that I am after.

    It is only for fancy dress so I don't wish to spend a fortune, nor does it need to be in immaculate condition (I have buttons and badges for it).

    Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have found lots of tunics that look similar but are Black not Blue... Conversely I have also found lots of Blue tunics but they dont have a belt or lower pockets!

    I think that particular tunic is now obsolete, but still could actually be illegal to wear in public (could be looked upon at as impersonating a Garda)
    I'd be VERY surprised if they were being sold anywhere, other than historic uniforms for collectors.

    Serving and ex Gardai, could take a dim view of someone using the uniform for 'fancy dress'.

    Just go on ebay and look up police surplus and go as a Brit plod. No issue with their police badges I would think, since our lot are Gardai.

    I know a place that gas what you are after. Its a small model shop but the back is filled with militaria. Its called models its just off dorset street
