I started playing the bodhran about a month ago and need some experience of playing with other musicians.

I am an experienced musician (bass player) so am not a beginner at music. I have a gig to do at the end of October on the bodhran and need live sessions to get up to speed quickly.

At this stage I can hold a steady beat, play reels, jigs, slip jigs, hornpipes but fairly basic and simple.

Are there sessions in Dublin where I could drop in and join in for a bit?

O'Donaghues on Merrion Row, every Sunday afternoon. You won't find a better trad session or a friendlier bunch of musicians anywhere in Dublin.

    That sounds perfect, thanks.
