    Hello all,

Is there any risks to stock by letting them graze some pasture that hasn't been grazed in over 5 years! Are animal susceptible to red water or pink eye from it? I was offered a bit of ground to clean up for the owner but I don't really need the grass. Its more out of interest than anything I suppose.

the tick that causes redwater is often abundant on ground that is infrequently grazed.. could be more bother than its worth !!

Would ticks be active this time of year?

Are you in an area known for red water?

How regularly can you check cattle?

To be honest im not sure. I never had an issue with it but thats not to say its not in the area. I could check the cattle morning and evening no problem but I wont let any into it incase. Could be a total disaster.

If your letting them out on that pasture use bayticol on the cattle otherwise don't bother with the land
