It's not that cops are bad people. It's just that in 'Murica law enforcement is more important than the law itself.

Human beings just like the rest of us. There's good and bad in the world. Good to see some are very aware of their negative reputation and trying to counteract it so people trust the police again.

Does anyone know the going rate for a US Cop working downtown Chicago?

    I wouldn't do it.

Not all of them are bad, well ofc not, but the majority seem to be very trigger happy.

    Saw this on reddit
US cop buys a bike for a guy with a 5 hour walk to work every day after being called out to a suspicious guy in the park.

How many times do cops do this and it isn't reported as part of some breaking news story? Who staged this crap?

How expensive is a bike in America that a guy with a FIVE HOUR DAILY WALK can't get one?

Downtown Chicago would be grand. Far south or west, I'd think twice, though.

Using this site, it starts at $46k and goes up to $92k, with appointments and promotions being higher.

He was homeless. But working homeless.

He should probably move jobs though ( although I get the impression that he's got a record and most places won't employ people).

Won't even ask the obvious then.

    Not bad really.

Difference being that they can be called in on the drop of a hat. I wouldn't work for €42k with those terms.

The vast majority of cops are not 'bad'.

    Moving homeless might be handier.
