Currently running Continental Sport Contact II 700 x 32

They wore quickish but that's a weight of me factor as well.

Gatorskins maybe but would like em hard wearing

You haven't specified what you want the tyres for?

    Racing? Touring? Commuting?

    Useage & mileage?

Hard wearing usually means sacrificing on grip.

Short daily commute plus doing 100 to 130km a week for fitness, bile is a Giant Roam 3.

I really like the Schwalbe Marathon plus.
They weigh a ton (almost 1kg per tyre afaik) but the grip, wear and the fact I haven't gotten a puncture in 3+ years cycling through Dublin city is well worth it imo

They are heavy old things alright, they likely to effect my longer cycling much?

Marathon Plus are horrible tyres whose only saving grace is that they're almost indestructible.

Durable, puncture proof, fast, grippy, fun to ride. You can have some but not all.

In fairness to.my current tyres o have had no issue either besides quicker wear than I'd like but I'm a heavy top dude. They are fast though.

I'd say they would, extra weight on the wheels have an effect on acceleration.
I find they roll well and they're certainly not horrible tires.
They're fit for purpose, which would not be a for speed but are bullet proof commuter tyre and for me a great .

Actually with regards to the weight I've 32c / 35c mix of tyres, so the 25c version weighs a good bit less than the wider tyres.

    Weight:
    595g (700 x 25c
    750g (700 x 28c)
    810g (700 x 32c)
    900g (700 x 35c)
    960g (700 x 38C)

Continental GP4000s. The best blend of speed, grip and puncture resistance IMO. I hate gatorskins, the grip is awful.

I've come across solid tyres that weigh about 600g per tyre in that size. Obviously no punctures. The grip seems normal and they are said to be about 100psi hardness. I can't link a page, but do a search on Tannus Tyres, Might be what you're looking for.

The 25c is a fecker to get on though. Just swapped over the 28c marathon plus I had on my old BSO to the (soon to be) commuter. Miles easier getting the 28c on.

Can't fault the tyres for puncture resistance, especially when commuting. I've gone over glass when I had no choice sure I was going to puncture and come out the other side.

The plan was to swap over the 25c on to the new arrival, but having second thoughts now after reading this thread. When I got them, the weight of the rider was definitely my main issue, rather than the weight of the tyres. Rider weight probably less of an issue now, so maybe I need to rethink that (Continental GP4000 SII showing as 740g a pair lighter), probably after the winter. Still wouldn't swap for commuting though.

Vittoria Voyager Hyper folding. Lovely and comfy, good puncture resistance and nice and fast. Make sure you get the folding as it has the high tpi casing.

A great tyre but not sure if they go up to 32c. The Marthon Supreme is a good 32c tyre, being lighter and slicker than the Marathon plus, but on the expensive side. For 32c, I'd be tempted to try _cdaly's Vittoria Voyager Hyper folding as my next set of tyres.
