Working wih this lad who is a decent guy, the type that would do anything for you but one major flaw he has is that he doesnt stop talking. For instance, when we had lunch together the other day, he talked for exactly a half hour and it done my fcuking head in. Its getting to the stage that its doing my head in and making my work day not so good. Just wondering what is it with some people that just love hearing the sound of their own voice.

Some people will be prompted to "fill the void" if no-one else is talking. But yeah it can do my head in at times.

The local motormouth, we all know one OP. I'm afraid all you can do is just buy a good pair of earplugs and let him off.

Bring in a book/paper/magazine for you lunch and he will get the hint. I usually bring in a book and on my lunch would read it. Majority of time I'm reading away, not a bother but the odd time I'll get the one that doesn't get the hint

I don't get why people feel the need to destroy some wonderful silence with their stupid words. If someone is particularly annoying I don't mind telling them that their story doesn't interest me which usually shuts them up. Unfortunately there are always some who don't even get that message...

Request head. He can't talk with some cock in his mouth. And who doesn't love some head?

We have one of those at work too. He's obnoxiously boring but just talks non stop about random **** that no one has any interest in. He once picked up a ketchup bottle from the table we were sitting at and talked at length about the ingredients in it. It really is suicide levels of nauseating random boring gibberish he talks and he can jump from topic to topic within a short sentence.

He probably just fancies you and is nervous, making him talk non-stop.

    Actually, yeah, that's definitely it.

    +1

Its legal now so you have to be prepared for these things.Let him down gently, you don't want it to build up to a drunken shift or the emotional fallout afterwards.
