Best Bean to Cup Machine Ever

I just got a new machine and I am very impressed. It was expensive but we had a voucher so it was not too bad. We previously had nespresso machines, while these were good we wanted something that was bean to cup and also something that required little or no user input.
    We bought a Krups EA9010.

It makes about 15 different types of coffee with one touch. It is programmable for different users so you might like a hot strong coffee and someone else in the family might like a light warm. So you can save preferences.

It is self cleaning and tells you onscreen when it needs to run a cleaning cycle and what to do if something goes wrong.

I am sure there are better machines out there, but if you want something simple to use that makes fantastic coffee. It is the best machine we have ever had.

    About 16-17 Krups Nespresso machines.

How much do you love coffee?

Yes the machine is over 1000 euro but we only paid 699. Have a friend that got staff discount and we had a 300 voucher. So it was excellent value.
1 we were already looking for a bean to cup machine
2 we had a krups nespresso machine before.
    3 we love coffee
4 if you had 2 cups per day from a coffee shop it is less than a years expenditure.
5 not more money than sense just invested in something we like.
6 it makes coffee that is nicer than our favourite local coffee shop. We were there today and we both thought the Krups made a better coffee.

Not necessarily, if you take into account the cost of high quality beans as well.

But enjoy, and "well wear" as they say! :)
I have a Delonghi Bean to Cup I picked up for about €220 on a good amazon deal. Love it. Sure it may not quite deliver the quality of "separates" but it's so quick and easy and still makes an excellent cup imo.

Looks very nice op, although I prefer a bit more of a hands on approach to making my coffee.

It's a good topic, so hope you don't mind be throwing in my coder machine into the mix.

    http://www.harveynorman.ie/small-appliances/coffee-machines/sage-barista-pro-coffee-machine-bes870uk.html

It's a beautiful machine, in looks and functionality. Our second machine (first one was a gaggia s bean to cup, and I'm not counting the previous nespresso).

The gaggia was more automated than the sage, it ground and tamped the cofee, but the grinder failed after about a year and we couldn't get it repaired in Ireland..

So we went on the search for a new machine and a friend of mine who is a coffee roaster recommended the sage. It's more hands on, the grinder while built in, is separate to the rest of the machine in function.

Every function on the machine is adjustable from grinder to water temp, ambit etc.

I was a bit nervous at first with the tamping, getting the pressure right etc , but you soon get the hang of it, and in the process learn what gets you a good coffee, and what to look for.

    Love the machine,

Wexfordman2 . The sage looks like a great machine. We have the sage juicer and its excellent. I really liked the idea of making my own coffee TDS etc
I'm just glad that other people like good coffee ..
    Enjoy your machine.

What beans are you using ?
We use Trucillo Red. Its nice but I am sure there are better out there.

    Hi Carlos,

I use beans from a local roaster in cork (east cork) called the golden bean. They are the only bean that's been through my machine since I got it :-)

I've been using this http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00H99ZWM6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1443425558&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=Panasonic+za1&dpPl=1&dpID=41KZRohfGmL&ref=plSrch bean to cup since April and I would be lost without it, absolutely beautiful coffee and a different non traditional machine.
I only use badger and dodo or 3fe beans.
    Golden bean are also nice.

Just adding some extra info; I've had the Sage for about 8 months now, very happy with it.

Some people (who didn't seem to know the machine) didn't like that the Sage grinder was stepped. It is all in the espresso range though, so the stepping is very small, and it won't do a rough grind. Conical steel burr grinder.

The pressure gauge is very good, especially when you start off trying to dial in a new coffee. 54mm portafilter might be non-standard, but Sage (Breville) are big enough that it's not a problem.

Compact machine that fits well on a counter top. Easy to keep clean.

Possibly an inflated price given the branding and target market, but good all round quality, and very worth it if you can get one on sale.

    We bought a Krups EA9010.

We have the "cheaper" version of this machine and it is very good. The one I have is the EA850B and as far as I know it can do almost the same as the 9010, but the milk feature is more sophisticated and user friendly on the 9010. If it was explained to me correctly the 9010 sucks the milk from the cup, heats it and puts it back in where the 850 sucks it through a little hose from a separate container.
Also the 9010 takes beans or ground coffee where the 850 only takes beans.
Both machines are expensive but in our case it actually made sense because we were spending so much on nespresso capsules we'll make the price of the machine back in about a year (and that's with using only good 100% arabica beans in the machine now).
Both these machines are for sale in home&cook in kildare village (as are cheaper bean-to-cup Krups and several nespresso machines) for prices a lot less than even Amazon. I paid just over €500 for mine (Amazon >€750) and can't remember the price of the 9010 but it was definitely less than €1000.

Looks very good, but I specifically did not want a steam wand, but full auto milk feature.... cause lazy;-)
