Just looking for info or opinions on the weather in Japan in July. Am looking at going there on a holiday for roughly two to three weeks.

From online searches I've seen it's hot and humid at this time of year but just wondering how much so. For instance I've travelled through a good chunk of South East Asia in the summer months and while it was fairly hot and humid I found it ok for the most part.

It's hot and humid. If you could handle SE Asia you'll be fine. If you go north to Hokkaido it can be wet.
