From October 1st until December 20th, Dublin City Council will be accepting submissions on their draft development plan, which will set out their planning objectives for the City over the next few years. Issues like modular homes, homelessness, housing shortage, apartment sizes etc. have been in the news in recent times and this is the chance for you the public to have your say. The link above sets out in detail, the thoughts of DCC at this stage. Once submissions have been received and the closing date has passed, then the Councillors will have their say, and as always with these things there will be revisions. At that stage, the revisions will again go for public consultation at some point next year before a plan is finally adopted.

So if you're interested in these things, make your views known and send them on to DCC, this is the right time for you to get involved.

To my mind the development plan could zone somewhere as being suitable for modular homes, and/or will detail their policy on where/what circumstances modular homes would be acceptable or whether they would be granted temporary permission or full permission. As it's a new concept as such here, the ball is very much up in the air.

No idea on the exact date of the vote but it must be voted on 4 weeks before implementation I believe.
The Dublin City Development Plan 2016-2022 will come into effect in November 2016

Do we know if the controversial passive/passiv standard is in or out?
