For anyone who wants to watch ITV programmes online; they will have to go onto a new service called the ITV Hub.

    http://www.a516digital.com/2015/09/itv-to-launch-new-online-hub.html

It's a combination of both ITV.com and ITV Player.

We still don't know if ITV is going to set up shop here to have an Irish station here if both UTVNI and UTVI will be both be sold to the broadcaster. If that happens officially we might see all ITV programmes available here on one single VOD service, like All4 from Channel 4, instead of having to navigate through both TV3 and UTVI player.

That will probably mean I'll lose ITV player on my Panasonic TV

ITV Hub would still have to block ITV programming that TV3 has the rights to.

It would have to block them Online and limit them to UTV Ireland programming on other platforms.

TV3 Player would remain for all other platforms.

I have to say: the UTV Player is very poor. Well it's not up on Sky/UPC yet, so I'm talking about the online version. There's no way to make the programmes play in full screen, and there's no way to rewind or fast forward. If it crashes, which it sometimes does, you just have to replay from the start. All that one can do with it is pause, which is very limited. It is also has much less of a time horizon than the ITV Player. What I mean is: the ITV Player keeps programmes for longer.
