    Howdy all.
    I have a problem.

The house we are renting is cold in the winter.up in the attic there is no insulation.the ceiling is very weak and I wouldn't chance putting a tiny tiny person up there to stand on the joists.so there is no chance of me going up there, not a prayer.kersplat!

Don't want to bug the landlord about it because the house and area is great and the rent is reasonable.

The wood on the ceiling is very very thin.

Would you recommend me standing on a ladder and throwing the insulation and fixing it with long sticks?

Is there anything you can get for the interior of the ceiling?

I have all the windows sealed and draught excluders fitted.just the roof needs some insulation

Am I being silly and should we just wear more jumpers.
    help and advice greatly appreciated.

What size are your joists? Is your ceiling plastered? The joists must be strong enough to support the ceiling at the least. You have no chance to keep your place warm without any insulation in the loft. Can you use some crawl boards to spread the weight? Don't forget that the joists cross walls so they can take more weight than you think.

It would be an awful job trying to roll out the insulation with a stick and get it to fit correctly.

You have to get up there to do it... or maybe one of your little sons, daughters or nephews would help?

    TT

Pump your load around there, should be able to do it all from the hatch.
