Ipad battery replacement program

My ipad3's battery is on it's way out. I see that apple do a replacement program where they give you a refurb rather then replacing the battery for €99 + €12.30 shipping. I am techy and could always open it and replace the battery myself but the thought of a "fresh" one is a bit appealing - what are my chances of getting a…
